Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Ultimate Low Noise PC Cases Ultra

The Deep Silence 1 PC case from Nanoxia offers the perfect combination of great system cooling at extremely low noise levels. It includes many unique new features like the Air Chimney, retractable I/O panel and fully modular HDD bays.

Features

  1. High density noise-reducing material
  2. Air Chimney improves the case ventilation
  3. Unique three fully modular HDD bay cages (2 x 3 HDD, 1 x 2 HDD)
  4. Two channel fan controller can control six fans (18 Watt per channel)
  5. Excellent cable management
  6. Water cooling enthusiasts can mount two radiators

After their successful launch of their legendary Nano-Bearing fans, Nanoxia dedicated themselves to the development of high-quality must-have products and the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 PC Case is no exception.

This innovative tower case is the foundation for a whole new line of future products which offer the perfect combination of ideal system cooling and sensationally low noise levels, especially for use with high-end PC systems. The exquisite looks and timeless elegance characterise its appearance and yet the Deep Silence 1 is deliberately simple in design. Common controls have been inconspicuously integrated into the exterior surface, maintaining the simple clean exterior design of the case.

High density noise-reducing material

In the course of the many years of development work which culminated in the Deep Silence 1, the focus was always on two requirements: minimal noise and system temperatures. Substantial effort was invested to minimise the noise levels. The side panels and top cover are fitted with specially designed noise reducing materials to minimise and absorb any noises. The solid front doors use sound absorbing materials to contribute significantly to the most effective noise reduction achieved by the Deep Silence 1.

Air Chimney improves the case ventilation

A unique feature of the Deep Silence 1 case is the Nanoxia Air Chimney in the top cover. It can be used to increase the cooling capacity of the case with minimal increase in noise. This is accomplished by simply moving the slider on the side of the case to open it. Thanks to the stack effect (heated air always rises), system heat escapes passively and without additional noise from the case interior.

Unique three fully modular HDD bays

In order to mount up to eight 2.5” or 3.5” hard disk drives, three fully modular HDD cages are provided. Two of these cages are designed for three HDDs and the third holds up to two. In the interests of allowing as much personalisation as possible, the three HDD cages can be removed and combined as desired. This way it is possible to accommodate two, three, five, six, or eight data storage drives in the Deep Silence 1. Alternatively, you can mount the hard drive cages for two or three drives towards the power supply. Please note that this configuration no longer permits a fan assembly on the bottom of the case and the maximum depth of the power supply cannot exceed 200 mm.

Due to this unique versatility, the installation of longer graphics cards is possible up to an incredible maximum length of 445 mm. Even if two HDD cages are removed, at least five assembly bays for HDDs remain. When using all of the HDD cages, the maximum length of VGA cards is 315 mm. By removing unneeded HDD cages, the front fans can increase cooling of graphics cards.

Two channel fan controller can control six fans (18 Watt per channel)

Behind the top door there is an integrated fan control that can manage up to six fans, allowing the user to optimise fan speeds to balance system temperature against noise levels.

Includes two 120 mm and one 140 mm case fans

Three high-quality Nanoxia Deep Silence fans are pre-installed in the case. Behind the front cover, two 120 mm fans rotate at a maximum of 1300 RPM. The fans are located in special swivelling brackets which allow simple removal of the fans and easy access to their dust filters.

At 14.2 dB(a), the Nanoxia Deep Silence 120 mm fans generate an airflow of 60.1 CFM and a static air pressure of 1.27 mm H2O. Mounted at the back of the case is a 140 mm fan rotating at roughly 1100 RPM while generating an airflow of 68.5 CFM and a static pressure of 1.08 mm H2O at a noise level of 14.4 dB(a).

Wide case body allows 185 mm tall CPU coolers

Due to the generous width of the Deep Silence 1, it can accommodate CPU coolers up to 185mm tall meaning virtually any CPU cooler currently available will be compatible.

Retractable top mounted I/O ports

The I/O panel can be found on the top cover of the case with 2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, Mic and Headphone connectors available. The panel can easily be embedded in the cover if the connectors are not needed. This ensures that the simple look of the case is maintained without sacrificing useful features.

Excellent cable management

The Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 offers a lavish cable management system. All openings in the motherboard tray are fitted with rubber chafe guards. Even when using Micro-ATX motherboards it is possible to hide cables behind the motherboard tray.

Water cooling enthusiasts can mount two radiators

Of particular interest for water cooling enthusiasts is the ability to accommodate a 240 mm radiator below the steel cover. Compact water cooling solutions can be mounted under the top cover as well. If the HDD cages are arranged in a certain way, another 240 mm radiator can be fitted at the front of the case behind the front 120 mm fans. Depending on the motherboard standard, the additional mounting frame can be used to accommodate two or three HDDs. It supports all mainstream radiators with 15mm spacing.

“So, it’s a well-designed, well-built case, but there are plenty of those on the market. What makes the Deep Silence 1 stand out from the crowd is the price. Even with an extra tenner for the white version, it’s a lot of case for the money. Nanoxia’s first chassis isn’t quite perfect, but it’s really rather good."

“The design pool behind the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 had some very obvious goals in mind and, in almost every aspect, the results were above and beyond expectations. They named it the “Deep Silence” and I can say, without hesitation, that it is the quietest case that I have ever used, bar none.”

“Silent by name, silent by nature. There’s bitumen in the side panel and also under the pop up airflow port/chimney on the roof. The front fans are dust filtered and easily removed/changed/cleaned, talking of fans there is also a pair of fan controllers on the front to give you the option of easily customising your fan speeds on the fly.”

“This is the first time I’ve used and of course reviewed a Nanoxia chassis and I enjoyed working with the Deep Silence 1, I hope it won’t be the last Nanoxia chassis we see here at eTeknix. Thanks to its superb style, cooling performance, silent operation, high build quality and feature list, I’m more than happy to award this chassis with our Editors Choice Award.”

“The feature set is very good just on the basic levels. I mean you have room for everything you could want in the PC, native USB 3.0, fan filters, sound absorbing materials. It is even water cooling ready and offers fan controls. That leaves users wanting very little.

For a first step into a market as flooded with choices as enclosures are, Nanoxia comes out guns blazing and makes you just want to say, “shut up and take my money".”

The quietest PC I have ever had.

,

As per my review of the Nanoxia Deep Silence fan, Samsung 850 Pro SSD and Scythe Kaze Master fan controller:-

I have been a customer of Quiet PC for several years and have bought several PC cases and various components, fans etc., from them. I have always had good and helpful service from them in spite of the fact that I live in Spain. So when I decided to get a quieter and less power-demanding case for my best PC I naturally turned to Quiet PC again.

There, I settled on a Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 case. It is very reasonably priced and is also very well constructed and designed for best ventilation and ease of use. As I was in the frame of mind for a major transition to the speed and stability of SSDs I also ordered two Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB drives, an additional Nanoxia Deep Silence 120mm Ultra-Quiet fan for the top of the case’s ventilation ‘chimney’ (as it can get very hot in Spain) and a Scythe Kaze Master Fan Controller – because I like to be able to see the speed and running temperature of my case fans. The Deep Silence 1 comes with a built-in two zone fan controller for 4 fans but has no visual display.

It has been a few years since I built my last PC so as soon as I started to load my existing Asus motherboard and its RAM and Intel CPU I realised that there were more advanced items out there now, so I upgraded the entire innards and now have a really fast machine that makes virtually no noise at all.

As always, Quiet PC delivered the parts right on time and I now have the quietest PC I have ever had. It runs so quietly that the only time I can actually hear it at all is when the CPU is chewing on some data. Other than that I don’t even notice it under my desk.

It was a great purchase from an excellent company. This case is very smart, well designed to maximise ventilation and space, and, as always, Quiet PC delivered everything on time and with excellent service.

Excellent value!

,

'Silence’ in the description is a little misleading - this case is very quiet but not silent. However, the fan noise is not at all intrusive even running Flightsim X with VFR scenery at fairly extreme settings (my system Intel i7 3.6 GHz, 12 Gb 1600 MHz DDR ram, AMD 7870 graphics, 3x HDD), the case is very well built, monitored components rarely get above 50 C, there is a lot of room inside.... I could go on for ever but at this price point it can only get 5 stars! Also, Quietpc.com continue with their legendary standard setting service.

Good, solid case with a nice array of features

,

Fancied a change from my CM Stacker and liked the look of this one. Researched it thoroughly and thought it was good value for £100, then I saw Quiet PC had it for £75! Bargain.

Plenty of room inside despite only being a Mid Tower, lots of configuration options, good cable tiding features (I’ve never had a computer look so neat internally) and it has a chimney! To be honest, I’m not sure of the merit of an air vent but it’s there anyway.

Highly recommend this case.

Totally worth every penny

,

High quality, convenient and smart space usage inside. Some question to design of the PC case’s top, but it depends from taste. As for the main purpose (in my case to be silent) - imho it’s one of the best. It has good cooling capabilities. Different cooling systems can be used inside and even some models of WCS. So that quite nice hardware you can put inside while still obtain low noise / temperature. So my rating of this “Nanoxia Deep Silence” case is 5/5.

As for the “Quiet PC” shop. Order, shipping and delivery was done quite fast. There was some problems (PC case had come damaged). But situation was resolved quite first and replacement was sent right away. Imho “Quiet PC” team efficiency and service level are very high. So my opinion about the shop is also 5/5.

Top Quiet PC Cases

“Can’t recommend highly enough!”

“When I required a replacement for my PC, I stumbled across Quiet PC who were mentioned in an article in an online magazine. I found their website rather pleasant. It offers a good selection of components with obvious focus on low noise levels, but without sacrificing performance, and doesn’t overload the potential buyer with tons of options that are likely irrelevant. In other words, they focus on the components they know well. And that shows when you receive the PC (more in a moment).

For my build, I had a few customisation requests and questions: I needed extra cables prepared for disks and a graphics card I wanted to fit in, because I didn’t want to deal with cable management myself (If I had known how spacious the case is, I could have done it myself, though). Those requests were accommodated at no extra cost.

Any questions I had were answered within a few hours, and during follow-up email conversation it rarely took more than an hour to receive a helpful response. Absolutely no copy&paste style emails from Quiet PC! Service and communication has been excellent throughout the ordering process (and beyond).

When the PC arrived, I was positively suprised about the packaging as well as all the extra bits and pieces they ship with the computer: All manuals from individual components, all spare cables, lots and lots of screws for different purposes (put into nicely labelled bags), and even the remaining screws and brackets for the CPU cooler - including the CPU dust cover and extra thermal paste. In other words, you get all the original parts which weren’t needed in the build, and then some!

Before I first switched the PC on, I opened it to add all my disks and the graphics card. All the cables were prepared as I asked them to do. The cable management throughout was very neat and tidy. I have used other custom PC builders in the UK before, but none of them were even close to Quiet PC when it comes to cable management.

So, do Quiet PC build quiet PCs? Absolutely, yes, and without any sacrifice on performance or temperature levels. The case fans and Noctua CPU cooler keep the i7-6700K and the system temperature in the low 30C range during idle and normal office work.

I ended up replacing the case fans with Noctua fans, merely because I’m obsessed with noise levels and they are a bit quieter under load and can respond to raising temperature levels, but that doesn’t take anything away from Quiet PC’s choice -- The computer was already very quiet before, and the manual fan speed slider will be more than sufficient for the majority of users. (In fact you will hardly have to touch it; the idle airflow is good enough and you have to push the PC very hard to get temperatures beyond 55C for the CPU and low 40s for the system)

I apologise for getting carried away with this review! :-)

The bottom line is: brilliant service, including the option to have custom changes done; excellent build quality, packaging and spare parts; quick delivery (4 days in my case, instead of up to 7 as advertised). You can’t go wrong with these guys!”
