If you are looking to take control of your new PC built around a Streacom chassis, then look no further than Streacom’s Infra-red remote control (IRRC). It is supplied with a PCB that fits neatly behind a small circular window in the chassis. This means there are no unsightly boxes or wires running out from ports - there is just the remote!

The remote control/receiver has the ability to bring the PC in and out of sleep (standby) mode and also fully power the PC on or off from cold if the motherboard provides power via USB to the receiver when it is switched off, (most modern motherboards can do this).

Software Support

A free software application for the IRRC module is available which allows all remote control key functions to be remapped. This new tool greatly expands the flexibility of the IRRC, allowing users to customise the action of every button on the remote from a set of standard commands as well as define new custom actions such as launching specific applications. The software can be downloaded from the link on the right. It is compatible with all current IRRC PCBs and will run on all Windows environments.

Multi-tap number support

Please note that unlike original genuine Microsoft remote controls (which are no longer being manufactured), the number buttons on the Streacom remote control unfortunately cannot be used to type letters or symbols into Windows Media Center text fields or media lists.
