Ryzen 7000 Series

At the heart of the PC is a low-power AMD AM5 7000 series processor powered by the new ‘Zen 4’ architecture, ushering in the next era of high performance for gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators thanks to the featuring up to 12 cores and 24 threads. Compared to the previous generation, the low-power AMD processors enable single-core performance improvement of up to +29%, up to 45% more compute for content creators, up to 15% faster gaming performance in select titles, and up to 27% better performance-per-watt, compared to the 5000 series.

To give you an idea of much of an improvement the low-power 7000 series is over the 5000 series processors, take a look at the table below that shows some PassMark CPU Benchmarks, the higher the number the better the performance the processors offers.

Choosing the correct CPU cooler

As mentioned above, this system can be configured with either Nofan’s 80-EH IcePipe or Noctua’s NH-P1 CPU cooler. It is important to note that, although the Nofan cooler is capable of dissipating the heat from all the CPUs on the configurator, the Noctua NH-P1 will offer lower temperatures due to its larger size.

Thermaltake Core P3 Benefits

Thermaltake’s Core P3 chassis is a open frame design, which is ideal for a totally fanless build as the warm air rises away from the installed components naturally, without a roof potentially restricting this process, resulting in reduced component temperatures (compared to a standard closed chassis). Another benefit is easy access to the installed components, making any additions made to the PC extremely simple to do.

Thermaltake Core P3 Disadvantages

One maybe fooled into thinking that because the Phantom uses an open frame design that dust build up would be a problem. The fact that the PC is totally fanless means the system does not attract dust like a fanned PC. Of course dust will settle on the components but fans are renown for attracting dust hence why they are mainly equipped with dust filters. And of course being an open frame design means cleaning the system would be a very easy task to do.

The only real disadvantage of an open frame design is the fact it does not have any sides, meaning there would be no protection against any liquid spillages.

Total Silence!

One thing that annoys us as Quiet PC is all the marketing blurb about products being silent. No doubt you have come across some manufacturers claim their products are “silent” or even better “ultra-silent”, even if their products contain moving parts. There are no variations of the word “silent”, it either is or isn’t, it’s that simple. If the product contains a moving part, it will generate some noise and will therefore by definition will not be silent.

We have therefore configured this system to allow you to purchase a totally silent PC. The CPU cooler, power supply and graphics cards are totally passive, meaning they will generate absolutely no noise as they have no moving parts. In fact, the only way you will be able to make this PC generate noise would be to purchase it with a conventional hard disk drive and/or an external optical drive, so please bear that in mind when configuring the system. If total silence is your aim, then opt for an SSD to contain your data rather than a mechanical hard drive and only insert a disk in the optical drive when required.

Storage considerations

When specifying your new PC’s storage options using our system configurator below, you will be offered a choice of drives which vary by price and capacity. There are two primary types of storage. A conventional hard disk drive (HDD) offers huge storage capacity for a low price, but it won’t be especially fast and it will generate a certain amount of running noise since it contains a constantly-rotating spindle. A solid state (SSD) or a M2 drive on the other hand, offer tremendous speed and absolutely silent operation, but they cost more than an HDD for any given capacity.

So if you need a lot of storage space (for videos or large quantities of digital photos for example), then we would recommend an HDD. On the other hand, if you prefer silence and speed (especially boot-up speed), then an SSD or M2 drive would be a better choice. Of course you can have more than one drive, so you could have the best of both worlds by choosing one of each! We recommend that customers chose an SSD or M2 drive as a boot drive that contains the operating system and important programs and a conventional HDD to store other data, but remember that if you intend to have a totally silent PC you might want to forgo the HDDs all together as they will make some noise due to their moving parts.

We install the operating system (if you order one), motherboard drivers, OS updates and Windows Security - that’s it. You won’t be pestered by pop-ups and nag screens and you can get on with using your new PC immediately without having to uninstall lots of junkware first. Free hardware support and fully inclusive warranty

We offer free hardware technical support for as long as you own the machine. This support covers any hardware query or problem, including advice on maintenance and upgrades. We regret we can’t offer software support or training so we would recommend contacting the software vendor in this instance.

Our hardware warranty runs for at least two years and is “collect and return” meaning that you don’t need to worry about getting the machine back to us - we will instruct our courier to collect it from you on a day of your choosing, then after we have checked and repaired it we will send it back to you by express courier at our expense. In addition, unlike many other PC suppliers, we have an “open-case” policy which means you are free to open the machine and perform your own minor modifications or upgrades without worrying that your warranty might be affected.
